Vergangenen Sonntag fand in den USA die 73. Verleihung der Emmy Awards statt. Für die diesjährigen Preise gingen viele hochkarätige Serien ins Rennen, am Ende gehörten aber drei Titel zu den grossen Gewinnern: «The Crown» von Netflix, «Ted Lasso» von Apple TV+ und «Mare of Easttown» von Sky Show. Eher auf der Verliererseite stand unter anderem Disneys «WandaVision». Zwar konnte die Serie drei Emmys gewinnen, allerdings nicht in den wichtigen Kategorien. Bedenkt man, dass die Marvel-Serie für 23 Emmys nominiert gewesen war, dürfte das für Disney doch eher enttäuschend sein.
«Ted Lasso» wiederum hat sich bei seinen 20 Nominierungen in 7 Kategorien durchsetzen können. Das klingt im ersten Moment nicht viel besser als «WandaVision». «Ted Lasso» konnte sich allerdings in den wichtigen Kategorien wie beste Comedy-Serie oder bester Hauptdarsteller in einer Comedy-Serie durchsetzen. Ebenfalls ein kleines, aber beachtliches Emmy-Portfolio konnte sich «Mare of Easttown» ergattern: Vier Awards gab es, drei davon in den wichtigen Kategorien für die besten Darstellungen in Dramaserien. Kate Winslet konnte sich unter anderem den Award als beste Hauptdarstellerin in einer Dramaserie sichern.
Richtig abgeräumt hat am Sonntagabend aber die Serie «The Crown» von Netflix, die als grosse Gegenspielerin von The Mandalorian ins Rennen gegangen war. Die Netflix-Serie ging dabei als klare Siegerin hervor, konnte sie sich doch in allen prestigeträchtigen Kategorien durchsetzen. Insgesamt gab es für «The Crown» 21 Auszeichnungen. «The Mandalorian» brachte es zwar auch auf 14 Statuetten, konnte sich allerdings nur in den eher technischen Bereichen wie Outstanding Soundmixing oder Outstnading Special Visual Effects durchsetzen.
